Fire In -- Fire Out: Benedict Arnold Knew That

For the past seven months
I've been building my wings
Fine tuning and dusting off the gears
Polishing the gold exterior you no longer deserve
The ash from your cigarette has fallen atop them
Coating my lungs with a pitch black smoke
You stopped lusting for my wings

Your lust and my now filthy wings

I'll walk around and cling to the God who brought me out of Egypt
In exile
Waiting for an exodus
While he builds my Sinai through the hands of its' destroyer
Knowing I've only poured my being on top of a wall
Feeling the abrasive wounds
Friction can create
Allowing mankind to see each shard of my heart
And count the drops of poison it now dons

My Sinai has been destroyed
And my wings aren't built to take me anywhere else

But I'll cling to the God
Who sees through your capitalism
Impatient lust and selfish greed
Sinai is my home

Fire in fire out
Prudence is my prayer for you poor child
